Core Veneer Grading Rules

A Grade Core

Almost clear from defect. Only some sound tight knots. No Void, end splits and laps in the core.

A/B Grade Core

Some dead rot or flaked knots, patches & shims but all are well repaired. Minor voids, end splits and laps in the core but not visible on face.

UTY Grade Core

Fragmentary pieces, big and regular sizes being used for long grain. Void, end spits and laps in the core but not visible on face.

Thickness of Core Veneer

1.4 to 2.6mm

Dimensions of Core Veneer

1290 x 850, 1270 x 840, 1270 x 630mm

Core Lay-Up Structure

1220mm - 3 sheets side by side along short grain.
2440mm - 5-7 sheets along long grain (cut if from the 3 sheet).
